Mary Mondschein Van Valkenburg, 90 of Mount Dora, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1926 in Coplay, Pennsylvania to Louis and Marie (Kukitz) Mondschein. She lived in New York for a short time as a little girl, then lived most of her life in Totowa and West Patterson, New jersey until moving to Florida in 1973. She was happily married to Peter William Van Valkenburg until his death in 1995. She is also predeceased by her brother Louis Mondschein. She is survived by her brother Frank Mondschein of NJ, her sisters: Theresa Pescatore and Nancy Tucker both of NJ, her sons: Kenneth Van Valkenburg (Nancy) of Mount Dora, FL and Peter Van Valkenburg of Riverview, FL. Grandchildren: Kristin Van Valkenburg Miller (Rick), Johnathan Van Valkenburg (Elizabeth) both of FL and Jacob Van Valkenburg of MN and great grandchildren: Aliyah, Austin and Aubrey Miller and Charlotte, Cameron and Conner Van Valkenburg and many loving nieces and nephews. Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had a "sunny" disposition and a smile for everyone! She will be missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held at Allen J Harden Funeral Home, 1800 N. Donnelly St, Mount Dora, FL., 32757 on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:30 am.
