Nettie Bentley died peacefully at home on December 26, 2014 in Eustis, Florida at the age of 92.
Nettie was born on September 23, 1922 in Deane, Kentucky to her late parents, John L. Bentley and Minnie Baker Bentley.
Nettie moved to Mount Dora, Florida in 1969, where she was employed at Pink Cottage Candies, hand dipping chocolate covered confections. She retired in 1987.
Nettie had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence.
Nettie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Carol Johnson of Campobello, South Carolina; her daughter and son-in-law Jan and Dave Harmon of Eustis, Florida; three grandchildren, Doug Johnson of Chuluota, Florida, Chad and Jennifer Harmon of Eustis, Florida and three great grandchildren, Evee, Calee and Colton Johnson of Chuluota, Florida. She is preceded in death by her fifteen siblings and grandson David Johnson.
A gathering will take place on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5-6 p.m. immediately followed by a memorial service at 6 PM at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora. Interment will follow at a later date in the Bentley Family Cemetery in Deane, KY.
