Obituary

Ora Virginia Belcher, 88, of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026. She was born on January 26, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Joel and Mary Morris.

Ora was active in softball and basketball as a youth. She loved to sing and was a member of Sweet Adeline’s for 2 years. She had a 25 year career in banking and worked with harness racing horses for 12 years.

Ora was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora and the Church choir.

Ora was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ora is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ballard Doiron (Rick) of Clermont, Florida; son, Curtis Ballard (Janet) of Ocoee, Florida; step-son, Jerry Ballard (Judy) of Apopka, Florida; grandchildren, Rod Doiron (Ashleigh), Chad Doiron (Kathlyn), Stacey Lawson (Dustin) and Savanna Cooper (Joshua); niece, Karen Murphy of Auburn, Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Brenden, Kaylyn, Tristyn, Tommy, JC and Lukas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Belcher, and granddaughter, Shannen Ballard.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, beginning at 10:30am at First Baptist Church Mount Dora located at 1000 East 1st Avenue, Mount Dora, FL 32757. A funeral service will begin promptly at 11am at the same location; the interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park located at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734 at 1:30pm. 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora Benevolence fund in memory of Ora Belcher.
