PATRICK SYDNEY O'DOWD, 90, departed this life to be with the Lord on December 23, 2022. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Florida in 1988 from Glen Cove, NY. He served in the Navy and was retired from the New York Telephone company, where he worked as an engineer for 33 years. Patrick was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was good-natured, outgoing, had a great sense of humor, and was always telling jokes. He enjoyed smoking his cigars, watching the horse races, playing on his iPad, watching his favorite game shows, eating sweets, and playing cards. He was a big fan of the NY Mets, NY Giants, NY Rangers, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He will be greatly missed and loved by the many people whose lives he touched. He is now receiving his well-deserved rest in the glory of Heaven. Patrick is predeceased by his wife Gloria O'Dowd, son Patrick O'Dowd, parents James and Rose O'Dowd, brother James O'Dowd, and sister Eileen Storcks. He is survived by his two daughters, Janet (Walter) Carney of Clermont, and Maureen (Timothy) Manley of Melbourne, grandchildren Kristine (Kevin) Sherman, Kelly (Malcom) Jones, Kathleen (Robbie) Milejczak, Melissa Manley, and Matthew Manley, great-grandchildren James and Juliana Jones, step-children Kathi (Vinny) Paolillo, Robert (Marge) Cornman, and Stephen (Jackie) Cornman, step-grandchildren Vincent Paolillo, Kristina (Billy) D'Angelo, Loriann Paolillo, Robert (Brittani) Cornman, Christopher Cornman, Maria Genovese, Tyler (AnneMarie) Cornman, and Kate Cornman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-great-grandchildren.
