Obituary

Born on January 5, 1935, in Rome, Georgia, Bob was the eldest of three children born to Robert Lee and Carol Louise Johnson. From a young age, he carried himself with a quiet purpose and steadiness that would define his life and inspire those around him.

A proud graduate of Georgia Tech University, Bob married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Addison, before serving in the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, he explored a variety of jobs before discovering his true passion in business. With grit and determination, Bob founded Southeastern Realty Group and built a successful career in commercial real estate, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and vision.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Johnson (2018); his parents; and his brother, David Tinsley Johnson. He is survived by his children: Rob Johnson and his wife Carolina, Bryan Johnson and his wife Cheryl, Todd Johnson and his wife Debbie, and Lu Anne Johnson. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren — Taylor, Meagan, Matthew, Betsy, Oliver, Emily, and Eli Johnson — as well as his sister, Carol Hines, and his brother-in-law, Eddie Hines. And his sister-in-law, Linda Johnson.

A man of few words but deep conviction, Bob was admired for his integrity, generosity, steadfast devotion to his family, and his deep and steady faith in God. His quiet strength came from a spiritual foundation that guided how he lived, treated others, and made decisions. He had a unique gift for making others feel seen and valued, whether greeting a stranger or sitting quietly with a loved one. Bob's gentle presence left a lasting impression.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures — walking, daily workouts, good meals with family and friends, a strong cup of coffee, and his favorite treat: chocolate-covered peanuts. He especially treasured time with family at Siesta Key, mountain getaways, and Thanksgiving trips — moments filled with love, laughter, and connection. Having the family together for all the holidays brought him immeasurable joy.

Bob believed in giving quietly and consistently. He generously supported organizations close to his heart, including Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Samaritan's Purse, always finding ways to help those in need.

To his family, Bob was more than a father or grandfather — he was "Papa," mentor, protector, hero, and true friend. His life was a masterclass in humility, strength, loyalty, compassion, kindness, love, and grace.

He made the world a better place by being in it. His journey here is complete, but his faith has carried him home.

And we will carry his love with us, always.
