Robert Steven Monroe Sr, Born 6/24/1943 died 6/20/2016. He is survived by his wife, Terrie Watkins, two sons Robert S. Monroe Jr. and James Scott Monroe, his brother Michael Monroe and four grandchildren, Jim, Rob, Brandon and Macy. Bob was also father by marriage to two daughters, Jonelyn Philip and Daralyn Van Stavern and grandfather by marriage to Terrie's four grandchildren, Jayelyn and James Philip, and Andrew and Fredrik Van Stavern. Bob was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Dillard, Georgia where he graduated from Rabun Gap- Nacoochee School. Bob had a varied and productive career but his favorite work was in aerospace and working for NASA at Cape Canaveral. Bob lived in Orlando, Florida from 1974 until he moved to Mount Dora in 2008. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church in Orlando while an Orlando resident. Services will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, 1800 North Donnelly Street,. Mount Dora, FL 32757 with a viewing at 3PM and a Memorial Service at 4 PM.
