Obituary

Robert (Bob) Simpson passed away at home on February 26 at the age of 77. Born in Eustis, Florida on April 16, 1944, Bob was a lifelong resident of Mount Dora and was raised in the family citrus business. Following service in the National Guard and work in the citrus, telecommunications and computer industries, Bob was a downtown property and grove owner and businessman. An avid train enthusiast with a ready and welcoming smile for everyone he met, Bob had a wealth of historical knowledge of the area. He is survived by his wife Carol (nee Odom) of 48 years, sons Michael and Mark and grandsons Caleb, Hunter and Harper. Also survived by sister-in-law Anita Simpson, nephew James Simpson and niece Lisa Simpson Beckstein, great nephews, many cousins, relations and family friends. Bob was predeceased by his father Howard J. Simpson, mother Mary Taylor Simpson, sister Margaret Simpson and brother Jim Simpson. Visitation on Friday March 4, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home 1800 N Donnelly Street, Mount Dora with private family graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association
