Roland was an auto mechanic for many years in Vermont before retiring and moving to Florida. Roland and his wife, Nancy, were partners for many years in the pool business before he fully retired.

Roland was an avid NASCAR and hockey fan. You could usually find him watching the race or watching his favorite Montreal Canadiens hockey team on television.

Roland's favorite saying was "Who loves ya baby? Smee!" To say he had a heart of gold is an understatement and he will always be remembered for his kindness.
