IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theodora M
Baldoni
July 20, 1915 – August 11, 2018
Theodora (Loscalzo) Baldoni Theodora "Teddy" Loscalzo Baldoni of Rocky Hill, Connecticut and Mount Dora, Florida entered eternal rest peacefully on August 11, 2018 at the age of 103. She was the former wife of the late Mario Baldoni and mother to her devoted daughter and only child, Sandra Baldoni and her partner Bruce Sanford. Teddy had retired from a long career as an employee with the State of Connecticut, Dept. of Transportation and was living close to her daughter in Florida at the time of her passing. In many ways, Teddy was ahead of her time. As a single mother in the 1950's, Teddy was unique in her town as a divorced woman raising a child alone. At that time, many mothers in the world who struggled supporting children on their own often discovered themselves slipping into poverty, as few career opportunities were available to women. Teddy, however, was proud and determined and was able to provide for her family and maintain a lovely home in Rocky Hill. Her life wasn't easy but she held her head up with the support of her sister and brother and provided a home for her young daughter, Sandy. Although Teddy was a woman who tended to conceal her deepest emotions, it was clear that she had deep pride in the many accomplishments of her daughter. When Sandy received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston University, Teddy's pride was very obvious. Theodora continued to live close to siblings in her home in the town of Rocky Hill, Connecticut until health issues began to arise. In 2002, Sandy assisted her in selling her home and transitioned her to Florida where Teddy was able to live in an assisted living facility until six months ago. Sandy was able to assist and supervise her care over the years in Florida. In the role of caregiver, Sandy lovingly monitored Teddy's daily health, taking her to doctor's appointments and directing her day-to-day care and living arrangements. Theodora was delighted to spend time with her daughter with whom she shared a deep bond. Teddy also had a special affection for Bruce Sanford who visited her often. In earlier years, Teddy loved to dance, bowl, garden, and socialize. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Theodora's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
