IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas J
Scruggs Iii
August 6, 1958 – April 12, 2022
Thomas J. Scruggs III, age 63 of Wiggins, Ms, gained his wings on April 12, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Anna Mae, and his baby brother Johnny.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathie, and his three children Thomas "Tommy", Christina "Chrissy", and Alexander "Alex" and daughter in law April who was like another daughter to him. He was a very proud PopPop to his grandchildren who absolutely adored him, Tyler, Emilia "Emmy", and Maxwell "Max". He also is survived by his two granddogs, Caine and Ralphie.
He will be sadly missed by all those that he touched in his life. His family is devastated by the loss of their big brother whom inspired them. He is survived by his loving brothers Jerry, Jimmy, Jeffrey, and Jason. He is also survived by his sister, Annette. He comes from a rather large family and he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved very much. He also is survived by his sister in laws, prior sister and brother in laws whom all remained family to him.
He also is survived by his amazing co-workers, his many friends, all of his brothers and sisters from USMA '80!! His co-workers, friends, and his West Point family were indeed family to him and certainly they are to us.
He did not want anyone to be sad about his passing. He wanted everyone to relish in the good times and all the memories. He wanted his ashes to be spread over all the places he loved the most. He loved the mountains, trails, parks, and the beauty in this world.
He wanted us to continue his journey for him; we plan to fulfill his wishes.
We plan to hold a Celebration of Life Ceremony in the future. We want to ensure that all of his friends, family, co-workers, classmates (USMA '80), and all those whom he touched are able to join in the celebration of such an amazing man!!
His legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of everyone he's touched. He will NEVER be forgotten!!!
Here's a few words from a verse of The West Point Alma Mater that was very meaningful to him.
And When Our Work Is Done
Our Course On Earth Is Run
May It Be Said, "Well Done"
Be Thou At Peace
He is resting and he is at peace now. He's surrounded by peace, beauty, and serenity. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. He will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. His love for all those he touched is the kind of love that will last a lifetime. We will see him again one day; the most beautiful Angel is watching over all whom he loved!!
