With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Travis "Paul" Howell, who passed away on July 3, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida, at the age of 58.
Paul was born on November 27, 1967, in Orlando, Florida, to Laura Russell and Joseph Howell. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, and an unwavering love for his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Russell and his sister, Susan Alexander.
He is survived by his siblings, Geraldine Roe, Laurie Taylor, and Buddy Howell; his children, Amanda Howell, Travis Howell, and Savannah Rayl; son-in-law, Josh Rayl; daughter-in-law, Svenja Altevogt; seven cherished grandchildren, Odessa, Quincy, Malachai, Genesis, Lauren, Layla, and Lotte; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
For most of his life, Paul worked in construction, helping build homes and leaving behind a legacy that can be seen not only in the structures he created but also in the knowledge he generously shared. He took great pride in teaching his children and family the trades he had mastered over the years, believing that hard work and practical skills were gifts worth passing on.
Outside of work, Paul found joy in the simple things. He loved playing the guitar, singing, and spending peaceful days fishing. Whether sharing a song, offering advice on a project, or casting a line into the water, he found happiness in the moments spent with those he loved.
Paul will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family. The homes he built may stand as a testament to his craftsmanship, but his greatest legacy is the family he loved and the lives he shaped. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Funeral arrangements are under the careful care of Allen J. Harden Funeral Home.
