Walter "Jerry Bass" of Mount Dora, Florida passed with family and friends by his side on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 4:20 PM. He is now reunited with his wife Ida, whom he was happily married to for 49 years. He was the son of Everett and Eairee Bass of Mount Dora, Florida. He graduated from Mount Dora High School and then went on to pursue 50 years of service as a funeral director to the Mount Dora community and the surrounding areas.

When he was not involved in his church activities, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at the garage working on cars and catching up on the times. You could also find him watching westerns and car races on the weekends or enjoying fishing with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Bass. He is survived by his daughter Chrystal Bass-Hindman of Mount Dora, Florida and his son William Scott Bass (Mary Jane) of Leesburg, Florida. He had three grandchildren, Clayton, Milo/Oli, and Colton Bass of Leesburg, Florida who held a special place in his heart.
