IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda Joan
Pickron
October 12, 1942 – June 8, 2024
Wanda Joan Pickron passed away on June 8th, 2024, at her home in Sorrento. She was 81 years old. Wanda was born in Rives, Missouri, on October 12th, 1942, to Herman Austill and Lorene Evans Austill. Her family moved to Florida when she was 14 years old, where she attended Apopka Memorial High School, graduating in 1961. She married RA Pickron in 1962 and lived the rest of her life in Central Florida. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her two sons, Terry and David. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Abrehamsen, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Natasha and Matthew Reid, great-grandchildren, Jayda, Olivia, Lyric and Jensyn, and her sister, Lori (Loretta) Austill.
Wanda loved gardening and was one of the few people that found solace and relaxation in pulling weeds. She kept her flower beds immaculate! She loved all kinds of flowers and took pride in her later years in having her yard manicured to perfection!
Wanda was also a huge animal lover and always had a dog or two, or a few cats roaming around the house. She enjoyed donating to local rescue organizations and always regretted that her physical limitations made it impossible for her to be actively involved in rescue efforts.
More than anything, Wanda loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest happiness in life. She dedicated herself to being a Wife, Mother and Homemaker and found great joy in those roles. She will be tremendously missed by her family, friends and all of us who loved her!
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at 12pm. The service will take place at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, located at 1800 N. Donnelly Street, Mount Dora, followed by internment at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis.
