Obituary

William Bernarr Clancy III (Bill), age 77, of Sorrento, Florida peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at home. In his last hours and after a longtime battle of heart health, he was in the comforting arms of his beloved wife and surrounded by all of his family.

Bill was born November 9, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida to William B. Clancy Jr and Geraldine Clancy. He was the oldest of two children and survived by his only brother, Patrick Clancy. He graduated from Seminole High School, attended community college and served in the U.S. Army.

Bill married his sweetheart, Beverly, in 1964 and three children were born from this union. They lived in Orlando and moved to Sorrento in 1978, so that he could pursue better professional opportunities in the propane industry. After many working years, he retired in 2012, so they could build more memories and enjoy their hobbies. They were married 57 years; together 60 years.

Bill was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge #238 of Mount Dora for 38 years and carried many titles, including Worshipful Master. He was also the District Deputy Grand Master, a member of the Shriners and served on numerous committees for the Masons, Rainbow Girls and Grand Cross. He dedicated many hours for fundraising and community service of those organizations.

Everyone knew that Bill was a hard-working and dedicated man that was unique and was quite a jokester. He loved family gatherings and also loved hunting in Montana, fishing and restoring classic cars.

Bill will be reunited with those predeceased, including his parents and his first-born son, William Bernarr Clancy IV. He leaves behind his wife, Beverly, 2 daughters, Connie (Don) and Linette (Rob), his brother, Pat, sister-in-law, Loretta, 9 grandchildren (Chelsea, Katie, Kyle, Caleb, DJ, Bayley, Brady, Patrick and Sam) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
